One of the most important things in the area of personal development is to stay plugged in.
A Word about Programming
Programming is on 24 hours per day, every day, all year long. It comes in many forms and from many avenues, and it can be neutral, positive, or negative. It is also filtered.
Everything we encounter gets filtered, and based on our filters, only certain things get brought into our awareness. What gets into our awareness is what we pay attention to.
It’s like when you get or want a new car. You may not recall even seeing this car on the road before, but as soon as you have or want this car, it seems like it’s everywhere!
In life, we are programmed and influenced by friends & family, media, and a variety of institutions – churches, school, job, etc.
If you allow your unconscious mind to be programmed by other sources, you’re allowing them & their rules to dictate your life.
A Lesson on Limiting Beliefs
Programming is powerful, and when you have limiting beliefs, your filters will find anything that supports it and allow that into your awareness. In turn, that awareness will reinforce the limiting belief.
When you get rid of limiting beliefs, the same is true. With this new awareness, you set a new filter, & now the positive programming gets in.
What Happens when you Plug In
It’s important to find ways to stay plugged in to empowering messages, as it does 2 things:
1. Helps avoid any new, negative, limiting beliefs or disempowering programming
2. Helps attack & chip away at any internal damage done by past programming.
Plug In to the Process
It’s important to understand that personal development is a PROCESS.
What I’ve experienced is that however long it takes to solve a problem is how long the solution is going to stick. So if you want lasting changes, you have to take the time.
It might not be what you want to hear. Just because it takes time, doesn’t mean it’s going to be hard. You can still enjoy the journey.
You can make really quick changes in life, but in order to make them stick, you have to make the foundational change & be clear on what’s influencing it.
