I was happy to have my good friend, Tony Magee, on the phone once again. An author, speaker, coach, and all around great guy, Tony took the time to share his thoughts on ‘Money Matters.’ It’s a topic we can all learn something about, especially given the current economic situation.

So what did Tony have to share?
He started off by explaining what money is – a tool to help you get what you want in life.
Then he talked in length about financial control, beginning with a great quote: “The amount of money you have or don’t have is a function of who you are and how you choose to show up.”
There are 3 questions you can ask yourself to really look at how you show up & determine your level of control:
1 – Who am I?
2 – Am I really being who I am?
3 – Am I really all I ought to be?
If you get stuck on any of these questions and don’t know the answer, you’re not in control! But don’t get discouraged, 9 out of 10 people aren’t able to effectively answer these questions.
Ultimately, you are what is important to you. But, as Tony shared, many of us are pursuing what’s urgent instead of what’s important (that’s HUGE!). By pursuing what’s urgent, we arrest our time, energy, and money!
Even more, you either have a poverty or a prosperity consciousness. Abundance and scarcity are things we choose! When it comes to your belief and money, whatever you focus on expands. If you focus on all you lack, the lack becomes greater. But if you focus instead on the abundance in your life, it increases as well.
You can also increase your S factor in life. Tony shared how we go through 4 stages whenever we enter a situation. First it’s unfamiliar and we’re in Survival mode. Then we learn the ropes and move into Stability. Once we get past that, we can create Success. Finally, we can achieve that which many of us yearn for – Significance.
But regardless of your financial beliefs or your S factor, Tony did share 6 tips to thrive – especially in today’s economy. And then he shared his secret 5 step formula for becoming a millionaire. You’ll have to listen to get these great tips.
