I had the privilege of interviewing Nicki Keohohou for February’s MMICC Expert Interview call. As the co-founder of DSWA, the Direct Selling Women’s Association, Nicki has a tremendous amount of expertise in the area of recruiting and sponsoring people in direct sales – especially women.
Nicki did a great call for us talking about “Principle Centered Sponsoring,” and if you’re looking to sponsor people into your business, I highly recommend you listen to the call if you missed it, or listen again even if you were there.
Here’s a quick recap of what was covered…
- 2 reasons you or your team may not be sponsoring people – 1) fear of being pushy, and 2) don’t know what to do when you do sponsor someone!
- Principle Centered Sponsoring is a step-by-step program to actively engage people in the decision to become a part of your business.
- Step #1 – Build rapport with STAIR:Service

- Step #2 – Ask & Listen with your heart
- Step #3 – Clarify their “Why”
- Step #4 – Make the connection
- Step #5 – Extend the invitation
- Step #6 – Follow Up!

Nicki simplified the recruting process so much, and yet offered a great deal of value. This is a call I’m sure you’ll be able to listen to over and over again and always learn something new.
