I had the privilege of interviewing Kim Mylls for the March MMICC expert call. As the co-creator of the Dear God Letter website, co-author of a new book, and an expert on the Law of Attraction, Kim had a lot of knowledge and advice to share. I was happy to have an hour to pick her brain.
Kim’s call was amazing, as she talked about the simplicity of using the “Dear God Letter” to experience and achieve what you want in life. I highly recommend you listen to the call if you missed it, or listen again even if you were there…especially if you haven’t already written your “Dear God Letter”.
Here’s a quick review of what we discussed:
How does the Dear God Letter work?
1. First go to www.DearGodLetter.com.
2. Next, pick a letter topic. The application has five key categories (listed below). Choose the one area you would most like to improve for your first letter:
- Relationships
- Finance
- Career
- Health
- Happiness
3. Start with a salutation. Kim uses the words “Dear God,” other examples would be “Dear Universe,” “Hello World,” etc.
4. Follow the prompts to click on and categorize the characteristics you want. Write in any specifics you desire. Determine if they are:
- Must haves – deal breakers if the characteristics are missing
- Would likes – would be nice, but not a deal breaker
- Dream traits – if you could have everything, put it all down, knowing that we rarely get what we don’t ask for
5. Sign off of the letter.
6. Print your letter and possibly send it to friends…whatever you are comfortable doing to put your request out into the Universe, so it can respond to you.
7. Read it every day and take time to visualize your dreams as reality.
8. Take inspired action to make your dreams come true.
Why does the Dear God Letter work?
Most of us operate in the field of what’s not working for us. This means we’re focusing on what we don’t have…and so you’re attracting more of that. With the Dear God Letter, you’re shifting to a positive, desired outcome focus. Kim cites 4 reasons for the letter’s success:
1. You get clear on what you want. Paying attention to the details often causes those things to “appear” because your mind and your eyes are open to them.
2. With the visualization, you begin to see what life would be like with (whatever your request is). This part is really crucial, and the call offers great insight!
3. You can begin acting “as if”. This doesn’t mean being fake. It means that with the visualization, you start feeling like the goals have already been achieved. So you act as if that is true, you are not acting like someone you are not.
4. Opportunities appear differently.
