As you go through life day to day, do you feel balanced? If you’re like most people, you have a desire for balance in your life, but generally feel unbalanced. Perhaps it seems like a never ending struggle to find that point where things are like you want them and in balance.

I want to give you some advice. Quit! Quit trying to balance your life, because it’s nearly impossible!
But don’t lose hope, because you can live a successfully unbalanced life!
The definition of balance is a state of equilibrium, or equal distribution. So I question whether you really want balance in your life – with all things being equal.
Or are you seeking harmony? The definition of harmony is “a pleasing arrangement of parts.” I like the sound of that much better than equal distribution.
When I think about balance, I think about scales, like the scales of justice, where both sides have to be equal for the scales to balance. There’s no movement; everything must be still to be in balance.
When I think of harmony, I think of music and rhythm. I think of movement – which is a better way to live than attempting to stand in balance.
Picture an orchestra. It’s made up of so many instruments. If they all played in balance it would sound awful! But each instrument has its place and its part in the orchestra, and they work together in harmony to make beautiful music. Your life can be this way!
Here are 5 things you can do to live a successfully unbalanced life:
  1. Flow with the go. This means to accept that things are the way they are, but you control your response. It’s a different take on the common phrase, ‘go with the flow,’ which implies that you should accept things as they are and let them take you where they will.
  2. Get clear on your values and fulfill them! Know what’s important to you and spend time on those things – give them priority.
  3. Know your purpose. There’s a reason you are here that’s so BIG and powerful. Focus on the BIG things and the small things won’t matter so much.
  4. Focus on the positive. Keep a gratitude journal and appreciate things in your life – both big and small. By focusing on the good, you attract more of that to you.
  5. Avoid disempowering words and limiting language. There’s an old saying “Sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me.” I disagree with this statement, because I know how much words hurt. Think about the words you use – both internally and externally. Use empowering words and you will empower yourself and others.
So there’s the call highlights, but you’ll have to listen to the CD for more details. 😉     ~ SS
